Why OEM Battery Charger?

Why do you need an OEM (original equipment) AC battery charger for your cell phone? The only AC battery charger designed to work properly with your phone and your battery is one made by the original manufacturer. The generic AC chargers you see for sale at cut rate prices do not meet your original manufacturers specifications. They will usually work to some degree but you can risk ruining your battery and your phone if you decide to use one. The specifications on a generic AC charger are not as precise as an original equipment AC charger. The voltage output and the current output will normally have a much wider range so that the charger can be used with many different brands and models. This can definitely contribute to reducing the life span of your battery. Read the ad carefully when buying an AC charger. A lot of ads will list the brand name first in the title but in the body of the ad you will see a disclosure that the charger is not an OEM (original equipment) charger. Ask any questions you may have before you buy.
